BALLWIN, MO Imogene Fowler Carbaugh, age 84, of Ballwin, MO, formerly of Bluefield, WV, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 2, 2017. She was a member of the First Church of God, Fincastle Lane, Bluefield, VA.
Born at Iaeger, WV, February 8, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Edward E. and Bertie Newman Fowler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years James W. Carbaugh Sr. (Jim), six brothers: Harry, Ray, Roy, Fred, Edward Jr., and Kermit Fowler, five sisters: Mildred Fowler, Nellie Frankenfield, Ethel Mann, Hazel Campbell and Sylvia Stackhouse.
Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Marilyn Gail Cook (Steve) of St. Louis, MO, one son James W. Carbaugh Jr. (Jim)(Roree) of Oshkosh, WI, four grandchildren: Michael Carbaugh of Raleigh, NC, Kristen Carbaugh of Chapel Hill, NC, Matthew Cook (Shannon Keithly) of St. Louis, MO, and Jennifer Miller (Caleb) of St. Louis, MO, Great-grandchildren Mason Cook and Mackenzie Hartupee of St. Louis, MO, one special sister Dora Hager and niece Robin Hager of Knoxville, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 8, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. from Mercer Funeral Home Chapel, Bluefield, WV, with the Rev. Perry Blankenship officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before service time. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley, Bluefield, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Carbaugh, Steve Cook, Matthew Cook, John Frazier, John Carbaugh, and Gould Lynch.
