Harry's Story

PRINCETON Harry R. Taylor, 79, of Princeton died Saturday, September 09, 2017. Born May 20, 1938 at Bluefield, he was the son of the late Lake Taylor and Mattie Worley Taylor.
Harry served with the Army in Germany and was a retired brakeman for Norfolk Southern Railway having worked in Roanoke and Bluefield. He was a talented guitarist, a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He was a faithful Christian and loved studying the Bible.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Eugene, Edna, George, Kenneth, Billy, Donald and Edith Joseph and his Black Lab, Chester.
Survivors include two children, Catrina Taylor of Charleston and Greg Taylor of Princeton; three grandchildren, David Taylor of Huntington, Christian Taylor of Princeton and Uriah Taylor of California; two sisters, Betty Robertson of Princeton and Phyllis Bailey of China Grove, NC and one brother, Andrew Taylor of Princeton.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military honors will be conducted by Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home.
