Gloria Jean Beeman Mayhew


Gloria Jean Beeman Mayhew entered eternal rest on March 30th, 2019 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was born on December 12, 1941 in Welch, West Virginia; the oldest of the late Paul and Effie Beeman's eleven children.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul James Beeman. Her sister, Joyce Marie Beeman Hodges passed away on April 5th, 2019.
Gloria is survived by her son Donald Larry Mayhew; Jr., and her daughters LaDonna Weatherford, Rhonda Thomas and Sondra Raymond, 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Gloria is survived by her brothers Michael and Johnny Beeman; and her sisters Paula Beaver, Lynda Mullins, Judy Sayers, Teresa Yurt, Shirley Scott and Shelby Hanson.
Gloria graduated from Welch High School in 1959 where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Welch High School Senior Sigma Sorority.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Gloria on May 4th at the Mountain View Methodist Church, 806 Smith Hollow Road - State Route 603, in Crockett's Cove, Wytheville, Virginia. The services will begin at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Mountain View Methodist Church Cemetery.

To Gloria’s Children: All of us know that Gloria loved her family. She was so proud of all of you and never hesitated a minute to brag lovingly about every one of you. One only had to spend a short time with her to know just how important you all were to her.
This is a hard time for all of us. I have always felt that there is no better friend than a sister, and there was no better big sister than Gloria. Through the years, she did her best to be there for all of us. In happy times and sad times, we shared a lot of laughter and a lot of tears.
Now, once the tears have dried up and we have said our goodbyes, what we have left are those happy memories of the times we shared with her. W
