Gilford Leon King, 86 of 512 Fourth Street, Bluefield, died Monday, February 12, 2018 in an Abingdon, VA hospital. He was born March 23, 1931 in Tazewell County, VA and a son of the late James Edward and Evelyn Gross King.
Leon was raised in the two Bluefields' and loved Dirt Trach racing and fishing. He had worked as an armature winder in the mining industry.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death five brothers; infant brothers; David, George and Curtis King and brothers James King, Jr., Robert Lee King, two sisters: Frances Annabelle Plaster and Estell Green. Half-brother: Adam King.
Surviving Leon are his wife Carolyn Osborne King, son: Samuel James King and wife Angie of Boissevain, VA and daughter: Leona Ruth King of Bluefield, WV, sisters: Nellie Kidd of Redbanks, MS and Shirley Green of St. Augustine, FL, adopted sister: Jean Hoops of Martinsville, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great nephews.
Memorial services will be Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 3PM the Bluefield, WV Salvation Army Chapel.
