Foster Lewis Tilley Foster Lewis Tilley, 82, of Oakland Drive, Princeton, and formerly of Anawalt, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Born on August 13, 1935 in McDowell County, he was a son of the late Robert and Della Wyatt Tilley. He had been a resident of Princeton since 1999 but formerly lived in Anawalt. He was a graduate of Gary High School and was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a retired coal miner from US Steel and was a member of the UMWA. He had also formerly worked for the WV Department of Highways in Welch. He had previously coached little league baseball in Anawalt and was a member of the Anawalt Fire Dept. He was a member of the Cumberland Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his: Wife: Barbara McGraw Tilley of the home. Daughter: Tammy (Gary) Bailey of Princeton. Very special son: Myron (Ondeena) Tilley of Bluefield. Special nephew who was like a son: Jeff (Sherry) McGraw and their children. Special friends: James Montgomery of Welch; Kendra (James) Kennett of Bluefield; David (Iris) Kroll of Princeton; Mason Kroll of Bluefield. Half-sisters: Judy (Gary) Hoyt of Charlotte, NC; Sue (Jack) Lowe of TX; Lynn Utley of Michigan; 3 grandchildren: Gary (Kristy) Bailey, Jr. of Princeton; Jeffrey McGraw and Kelsey McGraw of Bluefield, WV; 1 step-granddaughter: Heather (Rick) Poff of Princeton. 3 great grandsons: Owen Bailey, Wyatt Bailey and Alex Poff.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Donnie farmer and Rev. Jim Kestner officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Online condolences will be accepted at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the family.
