PRINCETON Ethel Dalton, 100, of Princeton, died Thursday, March 1, 2018. Born June 1, 1917 in Springton, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Widener and Nellie Love Widener.
Mrs. Dalton was retired from Maidenform in Princeton and was a member of Rich Creek Baptist Church in Spanishburg. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, flowers and the outdoors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Dalton, Sr.; grandson, Aaron Jason Dalton; brother, Oscar Dewitt Widener; and sisters, Frances Harlow, Christine Lytton, Hazel Monk, Louise Monk and Rose Cline.
Survivors include sons, William Howard Dalton, Jr. and wife Robin and Oscar Lee "Deedle" Dalton and wife Kay all of Princeton; sisters, Nellie White and husband David and Letha Catron and husband Rob all of Princeton and Hallie Shumate and husband Johnny of Georgia; grandchildren, Deborah File and husband John of Beckley and Tanga Cline and husband David, Cindy Dalton and fiance Wes Eller, Ricky Dalton and wife Tammy, Jeff Dalton and wife Cathy and W.H. "Howie" Dalton, III and fiancee Gina Sively all of Princeton; eight great-grandchildren; and several great, great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Jamie Mattox officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 4, 2018 from noon until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
