RICH CREEK, Va. — Emory L. Eaton, 93, of Rich Creek, Virginia, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at his home. He was born June 8, 1923 at Crandon, Virginia and was the son of the late Allen French and Drucella May Faulkner Easton.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Rich Creek, VA, and Eatons Chapel at Staffordsville, VA, a WWII Army veteran, a member since 1979, of Rich Creek Lions Club, one of the founding members of Celco Credit Union, a member of the VFW, the American Legion and was involved in the community in many ways. He had been a foreman in the instrument shop for Celanese.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Riggins Eaton; two daughters, Brenda Smith and Carolyn Markle and husband Larry; and one son, Gregory Eaton.
Surviving is one son: Gary Eaton and wife Marsha of Rich Creek, VA.; a son-in-law, Dale Smith of Rich Creek, Va., with whom he made his home; a daughter-in-law, Marion Eaton of Rich Creek, VA. Eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:30 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Rich Creek, VA., with Rev. Jim Pickett and Rev. Kevin Shirley officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek, VA.
Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of service at the church.
