TAZEWELL, Va. — Edward Lee Laney, 68 of Tazewell, VA passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 at Tazewell Community Hospital.
Born April 13, 1948 in Tazewell County he was a son of the late Tracey Arthur and Cora Evelyn Laney and John Walker Robinette, Sr. and Eunice Elvira Robinette. He was known by all who loved him to be a faithful Christian, hard worker, giver of gifts, fun-loving playful soul, and most importantly a loving and devoted dad. Eddie owned and operated Riverjack Recycling in Tazewell, VA and was a long-time member of Fincastle Baptist Church.
His spirit lives on through his son, Drennon Laney and wife, Heather of Tazewell, VA; daughter, Leigh-Ann Laney Heuer and husband, Kevin of Asheville, NC; grandson, Tyler Wright; brothers, Trocey Laney and wife, Cecelia, Bobby Laney and wife, Naomi, and Gene Laney of Tazewell, VA, John Robinette, Jr. and wife, Susie of Winston, Salem, NC, Arlen Wade Robinette and wife, Juanita of Abingdon, VA; sisters, Wanda Yvonne Poff of Salem, VA and Sharon Turner of Bristol, VA; several beloved nieces, nephews, and his loving church family.
The family will receive friends 1-2 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with Pastor Rick Mallory officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.
