PRINCETON — Edith Victoria Mitchem, 75, of Princeton died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Maples Retirement Facility in Bluefield.
Born September 30, 1941 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh B. French & Gertrude Griffith French.
She was a former employee for Concord College in Athens and a caregiver for many families in the area.
While her health permitted, she was a faithful member of the Pentecost Chapel of Praise in Princeton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six Siblings: Ruby Karnes, Virginia Sigler, Betty Steele, Zela Easter, Fred French and Ovella Jackie Fleming.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Robert "Bob" Mitchem along with two siblings: Covella "Jean" Cook and Hugh & Dorie French Jr. all of Princeton. A host of nieces and nephews.
The family has honored her request, she has been cremated. Inurnment will take place in the Athens Cemetery at a later date.
The Mitchem family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
