Edith Darlene's Story
CERES. Va., — Edith Darlene Lambert Hubble, Age 90 of Ceres, Virginia went to her heavenly home Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Andrew "Bill" Hubble Jr., her parents Winnie Leffel and Titus Cornelius Lambert, and her sister Thelma Parrish.
Edith was born at Shawver's Mill in Tazewell County, Virginia. She attended Bluefield Business School after graduation from Tazewell High School and married in 1952. Edith will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a homemaker her entire life. Her love of gardening, cooking and sewing was surpassed only by her love for her family. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son; Charles Hubble, Ceres, VA; a daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Donnie Gamble, Ceres, VA; grandchildren, Erick Mills, Amy and Josh Hancock, Chris and Carman Viar; great grandchildren, Samantha and Stella Hancock, Paige, McKenna, Sydney, and Andrew Viar; two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, two nieces, four nephews, several great nephews, great nieces, as well as many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church, Ceres, VA, on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm. The Service will be conducted by Pastor Vince Krauss and Jim Britton, Associate Pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bland Funeral Chapel or at the residence at any time.
