Edith F. Boothe, 92 of North Tazewell, VA passed away Thursday September 21, 2017 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA. Born July 12, 1925 in Tazewell County, she was a daughter of the late Robert N. Davis and Rosa Alifair Ball Davis.
Edith will be remembered for being a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked as a hairdresser for 38 years with her sister, Edna Newman. In the community she will be remembered for her paintings of Tazewell and surrounding areas in oil and acrylic. Her paintings hang on many walls within Tazewell, VA and several states. She annually donated a painting to the Tazewell Lions Club Auction and to show their appreciation, they declared her an honorary member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee "Bob" Boothe; one sister, Ellen Ramey and one granddaughter, Robin Lynn Hobbs Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Lee Money and husband, Paul of Bluefield, VA and Jerry Dale Boothe and wife, Judy of Tazewell, VA; sisters, Edna Newman and friend, Jackie Maggard of Tazewell, VA and Arbutus Echols and husband, Gene of Meadowview, VA; brother, Robert N. Davis, Jr. and wife, Viola of Stuart, VA; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Tiller and husband, Matthew of Burke's Garden, VA; great grandchildren, Erica Hobbs Hill, William Thomas Russell Hobbs, Michael Thomas Pilkins, Brittany Shea Pilkins and Jacob Dylan Pilkins; great great grandchildren include Braylen Alexander Barnett and Isaac Chance Hill; and Michael Conley Peters who was like a son to Edith.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 PM Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with Pastor Steve Branch officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA. Pallbearers are Michael Peters, John Thomas, David Miller, Cody White, Sherman Martin, and Darwin Whitt.
