BLUEFIELD, WV Drema Darlene Surber, 60 of Route 5, Bluefield died Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in a Roanoke hospital. Born on May 26, 1957 in Welch, WV she was a daughter of Kyle Jackson Carter and Mildred Margaret Walters Carter. Drema was a 1976 graduate of Welch High School and enjoyed planting flowers and caring for her flower garden along with her grandchildren and her pets and also enjoyed riding motorcycles.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters: Peggy Bourne and Bell Barkey and a brother Louie Carter.
Drema is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 40 years Darrell Surber, two sons: Darrell Windam Surber, Jr. of the home and Dale Travis Surber, Sr. and Fiancee Brenda Mayo of Brushfork, sisters: Cathy Kelly and husband Junior of Marytown, WV, Mary Janssen of Parkersburg, WV, brothers: Jackie Carter and wife Carla of NC, Benny Carter and wife Faye of Gary, WV and Carl Carter of Bluefield, WV, five grandchildren: Emily Renea Surber, Dale Travis Surber, Jr., Jacob Jackson Lee Surber, Antonio Contreras and Michael Contreras, a special niece Montana Carter.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gene Ball officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9 - 11 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens where Jeff Lester, Michael Contreras, Wayne Carter, Dale Surber Jr., Micheal Williams, Carl Carter, II and Jason Rotenberry, will serve the family as pallbearers.
