Dr. Juan's Story

Dr. Juan Llado Martinez, 68, of Bluefield, WV, died on January 27, 2018 in Kingsport, Tennessee. Originally from Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, he was educated at the University of Puerto RIco Medical School and did his surgical training at Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Llado practiced urology in Ponce, PR for 16 years before moving his practice to Grafton, then Beckley at the Southern West Virginia Clinic, and finally to the Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
A beautiful soul, his love for his family and work showed in every aspect of his life. Juan's memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Dr. Teresa Frazer, a pediatrician, and his five children, Estebania, Juan, Joaquin, Nicolas, and Lucas Llado. He will also be missed by Joaquin's wife Maggie and Lucas's fiancé Ingrid, and two grandchildren, Jameson and Sophia, as well as by his six brothers and a sister.
His life passions included Paso Fino horses and the Caribbean, boating with family and friends to Coffin Island.
As per his wishes, he was buried at Puerto Rico Memorial Cemetery in San Juan by the sea on Feb. 3, 2018.
