Dr. Danny R. Wills
PRINCETON Dr. Danny R. Wills, 70, of the Oakvale Road. Princeton died suddenly Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at CAMC in Charleston.
Born July 14, 1946 in Princeton, he was the son of the late Ray V. Wills, Jr. & Minnie Sutphin Wills.
Danny was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1964, Concord College in Athens, the WV State Police Academy and received his Medical Degree from WVU. Following graduation, Danny & Barbara lived in Charleston for 3 years, before moving to Bluefield where Danny served the public in private practice for eight years. Danny then worked in the Emergency Room at BRMC for twenty years and had served as its Director of Emergency Medicine. Danny was elected as Sheriff of Mercer County for two terms. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton, a former Deacon and was currently working with the AWANA group of the church. Besides his family, whom he dearly loved, Danny had a love and passion for flying airplanes, having earned his pilots licenses in 2001.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Steve Wills.
Those left to cherish his memory, his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Ann Snider Wills,
Three children; Matthew Scott Wills, Joseph Taylor Wills all of Princeton, Mary Elizabeth Wills Price & husband Jerry of Mauldin SC. A special son, Gunjan Sanghi of Washington DC; Five grandchildren: Jackson Ray Wills, Hadley Kate Wills, Keagan Lee Wills, Morgan Elizabeth Price & Cooper Daniel Price;
Brother: Michael Wills & wife Jeannie of Princeton; Nephew Keith Wills; Brother-in-law, Ronnie Snider & his wife Freda and their children Kim & Rick and a host of cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Dr. Danny Wills will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 19, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Princeton with Dr. David Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton and one hour prior to services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the First Baptist Church, Moving Forward Building Fund, 1116 Mercer Street, Princeton WV 24740.
