Dorothy Kate Wall, age 94 of Tazewell, VA passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell, VA.
She was born October 5, 1924 at Tazewell, VA and was a beloved daughter of the late Roscoe Riner Wall and Hessie Maude Byer Wall. Her father traveled to Tazewell from Marion, VA on a mule to work as the county Extension Agent and started Farm Bureau.
She was a graduate of Tazewell High School, Radford University, and received an advanced degree from George Washington University. She had a career in Pharmaceutical Research. She loved her church and was a longtime member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Tazewell, VA and longtime member of the Tazewell Music Club.
Dorothy enjoyed life and loved going out to eat with friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Byer Wall and sister, Dr. Mary June Wall.
She is survived by numerous cousins, church family, special caregivers, Vicki Lott, Cecilia Rose, Karen Johnson Earls, Ann Addair, Pam Hagy, and Ann VanDyke.
Visitation will be from 1-2 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with Pastors Anthony Grills and Manny Elswick officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA. Pallbearers are Jess Peery, Jess Peery, Jr., Brad Pyott, Bob White, Danny Coulthard, and Josh Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Stephen Rinehart, Mike Harris, Eulis Patrick, Bryan Warden, and Tom Alley.
