Dorothy Janelle Lane, 84, of Browning Lambert Mountain, Rock, WV, passed away on April 11, 2019 at her home.
Born on April 3, 1935 in Big Four, WV, she was a daughter of the late Victoria Day. She had been a resident of Rock for over 40 years and attended the Montcalm Church of God and Mt. Grove Community Church. She had formerly worked at the Dairy Queen, GlenWood Park Retirement Village, and Mercer Continuous Care.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Brown; grandchildren, Donnie Sizemore and Misty Lusk; and 3 sisters. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Survivors include her: Husband of 41 great years: Tracy Lane of the home; Daughter: Brenda Anderson and husband Rick of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Sons: Darrell Brown and wife Kathy of Bluefield, Virginia, Johnny Brown and wife Patricia of Bluefield, West Virginia, Stewart Brown and Lois of Bluefield, Virginia, Junior Brown II and wife Joyce of Bluefield, West Virginia, Herman Sizemore and wife Krista of Rock, West Virginia; Stepchildren: Martha "Cookie" Dalton of Bluefield, Joyce Curry of Princeton, Rosemary Hickerson of Princeton, Leonard Lane of Princeton; Grandchildren: Ricky Brown, Amanda Triagle, Tammy Robinson, Angela Smith, Jason Brown, Nina Williams, Sheena Hale, Brandi Ellis, Brittany Gullium, Jessica Bell, Tori Sizemore, Dawson Sizemore, Emily Hurley, Erika Tiller; Step-grandchildren: Karen Staats, Kristy Dalton, Stepahnie Farmer, Brandi Barnes, Tracy Reed; 24 great grandchildren; Daughter in law: Marsha Brown of Princeton; Special Daughter: Sherry Wingate of Bluefield.
Thanks to her special caregivers at Hospice Compassus; and to Herman and Krista Sizemore, Tracy Lane, Tammy Brown and Emily Hurley.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastors Wayne Saunders and David Kirby officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton with family serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.

Dorothy was a Godly women she was so special to me if it wasn't for her I don't know where I would be she incourged me supported me as a minister I will miss her so much and I loved this women of God she is real in her faith and God I will miss her and I lived her
