Dorothy Louise Kessinger, 96, of Durham, NC, formerly of Princeton, died Friday, December 8, 2017 at her residence.
Born December 28, 1920 in Modock, WV she was the daughter of the late Oliver Morton Knouff, Sr. and Lestelle Virginia Baker Knouff. She was a graduate of Princeton High School and West Virginia School of Business in Bluefield.
Dorothy was retired from First Community Bank in Princeton and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Princeton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Kessinger; one sister, Margaret Knouff; and two brothers, Oliver Knouff and Russell Knouff.
Survivors include one son, Fredrick James Kessinger and wife Dana of Reidsville, OH; one daughter, Ellen Carol Venable and husband Barry of Durham, NC; three grandchildren, Erica Kessinger Jenkins and husband Mark of Nashville, TN; Sarah Barbour and husband Daniel of Durham, NC, and Alison Wood Griffith and husband Luke of Durham, NC; four great grandchildren, Caroline Barbour, Lucas Barbour, Bowen Griffith and Ava Griffith; and one brother, George W. Knouff and wife Mary Jo of Blacksburg, VA.
A graveside service at the Camp Creek family cemetery will be held at a later date to be determined.
