Dorothy Maxine Brinegar, age 71, passed away at UVA hospital in Charlottesville, VA, on Monday, January 9, 2017 with her husband by her side. She was born October 2, 1945 in Boissevain, VA. She was the loving daughter of Clyde and Dorothy Hall.
Dorothy was a 1964 graduate of Pocahontas High School. She has been happily married to her husband George Brinegar for 52 years. She worked at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. She was a very talented and unique lady. She taught ceramic classes at Boissevain for many years. She also loved photography, painting, and going on trips with her friends. She also loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother and grandmother, a precious sister and a true friend.
She is survived by the love of her life: her loving husband George D. Brinegar, her son Chris Brinegar and his wife Suzanne Brinegar of Pocahontas, VA and daughter Maegan Brinegar of Boissevain, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Eden Brinegar, Michael Brinegar, Brittany Brinegar, Braylon Brinegar, Laken Thornsbury and Baleigh Rash; a very special best friend and sister Judy Murphy and husband Martin Murphy of Boissevain, VA. She is also survived by her sister in law Betty Mullins of Bluefield, WV; brother in law David and wife Carolyn Brinegar of Odenton, MD; sister in law Barbara and husband Glen Creasy of Abbs Valley, VA; sister in law Frances Boone and husband Roger of Lakeland, FL; brother in law Jimmy Brinegar of New Part Richey, FL and brother in law Wayne Brinegar and wife Jean of Aiken, SC. She will be missed more than words can express.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA with Preacher Walter Schwitzerlett officiating. Entombment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Bluefield, Virginia.
Friends may call Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 11am to 1pm at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
