Doncia Lenora's Story
Doncia Lenora Weaver Franklin, 78, of the Bicknal Flats area of Lashmeet, went to be with her Lord on January 25, 2018 after a long illness.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of sixty years, Ronald E. Franklin of the home; her son Douglas of the home; daughter Deborah Patrick and husband Robert next door; their three children, Jamey (Paula), Ben and Jeremy (Kristina); granddaughter, Heather Franklin; great grandchildren, Allie and Bryce Patrick, Blaise and Sydney Parsons, and Keegan Patrick; siblings Tina Lowe of Sterling, VA, Regina Weaver of Independence, KY, Trudy Snuffer of New Richmond, WV, Bucky Weaver of Fayetteville, GA, and Marsha Mills of Princeton; and a special "daughter" Kim Beggs from "back in the holler".
Doncia was of the Baptist faith and attended Shawnee Baptist Church before her illness. She, Ronald, and other artist family and friends painted the vestibule and baptism pool at the church. Mrs. Franklin owned Canine Manor in Princeton and had been in dog grooming for over forty years. Other than her family, her passion was her love of art. She was a longtime member of the Appalachian Artist Association. She sold many of her items and owned Artworks.
Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her son, Michael Alan Franklin; her parents, Cecil Weaver, Sr. and Arrettia Privett Weaver of Mullens and Hinton; nephew, Kenneth W. Duncan of Florida; nieces, Teresa Lowe of Kopperston, and Pamela Cumby of Mullens; and father-in-law, Claude Franklin of Mullens.
