Donald Lee Smith, 71, of Butternut Drive, Princeton died suddenly Sunday, September 3, 2017 only to be ushered into the presence of his Lord and Savior. Born May 6, 1946 at Rainelle, he was the son of the late Guy Smith and Phyllis O'Dell Smith. Don was a graduate of Richwood High School and Concord College. He was a retired Medical Technician with Princeton Community Hospital for more than 34 years. Don was a student of the Bible and a faithful member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church where he served as an Elder. Don was an avid photographer and enjoyed people from all walks of life. He will be remembered as being a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory, his devoted and caring wife Elizabeth Jane Tabor Smith, children; Bridget Smith, Preston Young both of Princeton, Michael Young & wife April and their daughter Alexandra of Lexington NC, his brother Winston Smith & wife Nancy of Mount Ulla NC.
A service to celebrate the home going of Donald Smith will be held 6:00 PM Friday evening, September 8, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Scott Carton officiating.
The family has honored Don's request for cremation. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 5:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
