Donald Ray Mitchem, 69, of Pageton, WV, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at his home with family at his side. Born December 4, 1947 in Pageton, he was the son of the late
Paris Mitchem and Bertha Graham Mitchem. Donald worked in the coal mines for many years. He was a mechanic and a Master Electrician last working for McBride Electrical in Welch, WV. He loved the challenge of fixing and working on anything. He was a true Chevrolet man. Donald was a loving Husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Leaving to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Caroline Gordon Mitchem. Two daughters; Marina Church and husband Woody and Renee Bolden and husband Buddy all of Pageton, WV. Four grandchildren; Caleb Church and wife Amber, Cody Church, Laura Flake and husband Willy and Emily Bolden. Three great-grandchildren; Aaron and Anna Church and Riflon Flake. Two brothers; Russell Mitchem and wife Dicie and Paris Mitchem. Also a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be conducted Saturday, August 5, 2017, 12 p.m. at the Long Point Missionary Baptist Church in Anawalt, WV with the Rev. Don Farmer Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial
Gardens, Bluewell, WV. Friends may call from 11:AM until the hour of service at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
