PRINCETON — Donald Ray Barton, age 59 of Princeton, WV died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at his home. He was born July 15, 1957 at Richlands, VA and was a son of the late Evans and Alice Robinette Barton. He was a 1975 Graduate of Big Creek High School and had worked for several years as a Coalminer with CONSOL; he was a member of the UMWA Local #2322 at Amonate, VA. Mr. Barton attended Conerstone Family Church in Princeton, WV. He was a man who loved to ride his Harley and play the guitar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Ray Barton.
Those who survive to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary Lou Barton; his daughter, Tara Alicia Barton Adkins and husband, Matthew of Charleston, WV; daughter-in-law, Jessica Williams Barton of Barboursville, WV; three sisters, Betty L. Mullins and husband, Carl of Grundy, VA, Dee-Dee Duncan and husband, Ken of Wytheville, VA and Debbie Tramel and husband, Darrell of Draper, VA; four grandchildren, Michael Anthony Adkins and Andrew Reid Adkins, both of Charleston, WV, James Tanner Beckett and Jared Ray Barton, both of Barboursville, WV; a host of other family members and friends also survive.
Funeral Services for Donald Ray Barton will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Chaplain R.J. Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens and Bluefield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 12:00 P.M. (noon) on Sunday, January 22, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society: 230 Charwood Drive, Abingdon, VA 24210 or to the National Autism Association: One Park Ave. Suite 1, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
