David Asher Light
In addition to his parents, David is survived by his daughter, Audrey Elizabeth Light, of the home, and her mother, Lauren Colleen Ould, of Huntington; brother, Alex (Emily Cook and Anna-Neale) of Richmond; and step-grandmother, Dafney Peters of Bluefield along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins scattered throughout the United States.
David was a talented painter, landscaper, an all-around hard worker and a dear, sweet man who was valued by many in the community. His fifteen year-long battle with opioid addiction caused him much pain and suffering which was relieved only by his beloved daughter, the light of his life. David will be sorely missed by his family and friends who depended on him for his laughter, talent and willingness to always help a friend.
Services will be conducted Thursday, September13, at 3 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Bluefield with the Rev. Dr. W.D. Hasty, Jr. officiating. Friends will be received in the church parlor an hour before the service. Honorary pallbearers are Issac Bailey, Chad Bennett, P.J. Quesenberry, Jon Matney, Stevie Anderson and Steven Butt.
Contributions may be made in David's memory to the Herbert and Janie Light Congregational Care Fund of First Presbyterian Church, 208 Tazewell Ave., Bluefield, WV 24701.
