Charles Everett Scott, 82 of Bluefield, VA and formerly from Maybeury, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 27, 2017.
He was the son of the late Hobert and Artie Alice Anders Scott. He was a member of the Bluefield Virginia Church of God and loved gospel music and attending church. He enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the trains and was a fan of John Wayne and Western Movies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Gail Hayes Scott; 1 brother and 2 sisters; 2 brothers-in-law.
Those left to cherish his memory are 2 step-daughters: Lena Scott and husband, David of Falls Mills, VA and Betty Campbell and husband, Brock of Omaha, NE; grandsons: Joseph Woods, who lived with him and helped care for him, of Bluefield, VA, Robert Thompson, who also helped care for him, of Falls Mills, VA, Robby Suarez and wife, Jenee and Anthony Suarez and wife, Judy all of Omaha; great-grandchild, London Woods, who always made him happy with her words and bubbliness; 4 great-grandkids and 1 great great-grandchild on the way, Omaha; sisters-in-law: Teresa Hayes and Milissa Payne both of Bluefield, VA; brother-in-law: Larry Hayes of Summersville, WV; former son-in-law: Kenny Thompson, who also helped care for him; brothers: Rev Clinton Scott and wife, Donna, Kermit Scott and Ronnie Scott.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Grandview Memory Mausoleum Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev Tony Ellis officiating. Military grave rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #9696 and the Pocahontas American Legion Post #14. There will be no public visitation. Friends wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Grandview Chapel on Saturday no later than 12:45 P.M.
The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice for the care they gave him and to his aide, Sandy that took extra measures to make him comfortable.
