Carl Franklin's Story

PRINCETON — Carl Franklin "Sonny" McBrayer, 71, of Princeton, formerly of McDowell County, WV, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017.
Born July 17, 1945 in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late Francis L. and Maxine Marie Widner McBrayer.
Sonny worked as a Master Electrician, was an avid hunter and while at Welch High School and College, he excelled in football.
He loved and lived for hunting season.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his only sister, Shelby Jean Lane and his soul mate and love of his life of 33 years, Brenda Fay Cornett.
Surviving are his step-daughter, Melissa & Ed Graham; Step-daughter, Tammy & Rick Elliott; Step-daughter, Linda & James Turick; Daughter, Amber & Scottie Gordon; Son, Brandon McBrayer; Brother, Jerry "Fuzzy" McBrayer of Princeton; Eleven grandchildren and Seven great-grandchildren; His four legged furbaby "JP".
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 11, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton. The family has honored his request that he be cremated.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour.
