Brian Keith "B.J." Johnson

Brian Keith B.J. Johnson Brian Keith "B.J." Johnson, age 47 of Tazewell, VA passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Born August 15, 1971 in Welch, WV, he was the seventh child of the late Phyllis "Cookie" Johnson Duff. He was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church in Bishop, VA. He was employed at Pocahontas State Correctional Center and was a member of the VHSL Officials Association. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Duff; two brothers, Dwight Johnson and Cedrick Darrell Johnson.
B.J. leaves behind his wife, Lisa Johnson; his son, Johnathan Johnson and his daughters, Brittani King and Ava Johnson. In addition to his wife and children B.J. is survived by his brothers, Michael Ray Johnson and wife, Tanja; and Curtis Johnson; sisters, Tina Johnson Baylor and husband, Jeff and Rhonda Johnson Freeman and husband, Linwood. B.J. is also survived by his father James Benny Wilson along with four other brothers, Tyrone Wilson, Ronald Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, and Guy Wilson; three other sisters, Geraldine Wilson, Sabrina Wilson, and Freda Wilson. B.J. also had four grandchildren, Bentley King, Brazen Anderson, their father Jonathan Anderson, Jaden Johnson, his mother Kelsey Brooks and Jace Johnson; nieces and nephews, Keisha Tyson, Felecia Tucker, Vaneisha Duff, Isaiah Baylor, Jeffrey Baylor, Jr., Kristen Johnson, and Little Michael Johnson, several other nieces and nephews; special sisters and cousins, Peggy Wilson, Sabrina Wilson, Shonda Wilson, Faith Tarter, and Niecy Farmer.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Monday, January 7, 2019 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home In Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM with the Reverend Joseph Moore and Evangelist Mary Lambright officiating. Burial will follow at Hartwell Cemetery in Hartwell, WV. Members of the Pocahontas State Prison Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.

B.J was a big part of our lives, he loved our little girls so much always picked on them, tickled them and made us laugh, he loved all kids..he came to our house and our neighbor little boy who is 5, he called Bj (PJ) AND SAID HE WAS his teddy bear!!! It hurts so bad that he is gone, just wish we could have seen him more!!! We love you Bj and will never forget your big 💓,
