Bonnie Gail's Story
GREENVILLE, WV Bonnie Gail Humphreys Adkins, age 75, of Greenville, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the Country View Assisted Living in Peterstown, WV. Born May 2, 1942, in Wayside, WV, she was the daughter of the late George Conrad and Hallena (Hallie) Martin Humphreys.
Bonnie was a cook, caregiver, and quilter. She was a 1960 graduate of Greenville High School and retired from Monroe County Schools as a cook. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church at Ballard where her husband served as a pastor for many years. Also, she was a member of the Flint Chapel Ladies Circle at Creamery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Adkins on January 21, 2014; two brothers, Thomas Lee Humphreys and Grover Oscar Humphreys; and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Lou Humphreys.
Survivors include one sister, Nellie Wickline and husband Junior of Lindside, WV; three nephews, Lee, Grover, and David; two nieces, Penny and Tammy; several great and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins; and one aunt, Aldene Humphreys of Country View.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Tim Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenville United Methodist Church Cemetery in Greenville, WV. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
