BLUEFIELD Billy Randolph Thomason, 73, of Bluefield died Friday, October 6, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born April 13, 1944 in Mercer County, WV, he was the son of the late Billy Daniel and Ruth Daphna O'Donnell Thomason.
Billy retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 30 years of service in Maintenance of Way Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. Billy loved the Lord and he was a member of the Smith Chapel Church of the Brethren where he was saved and baptized in 1962.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Donald L. Looney.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Marilyn Looney Thomason; One daughter, Melissa D. Lanter and her husband Steve; Three grandchildren, Stephanie M. Lanter, David A. Lanter and his wife Megan and Brian G. Lanter; Three brothers, Richard D. Thomason and his wife Anita, Robert D. Thomason and Homer Dale Thomason; One sister, Judy R. Thomason Cordle and her husband Mackie; His mother-in-law, Virginia B. Looney and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Billy R. Thomason, will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 1:30 P.M. from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory with Rev. Donald Dinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 12:30 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.
