WINCHESTER, Va. — Betty Jane Sigmon, 88, of Winchester, VA, formerly of Princeton, died Sunday, April 16, 2017. Born April 29, 1929 in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Albert Cordell and Bessie Short Cordell.
Mrs. Sigmon was a homemaker and was a long-time member of Upper Room Church in Princeton. She was a loving mother and will be missed by her family, as well as her little dog, Peaches.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Frazier Cordell, Lawrence Cordell, Marvin Cordell and Fred Cordell; and one sister, Myrtle Hendricks.
Survivors include two sons, Duel Sigmon, Jr. and wife Alice of Roanoke, VA and Debbie Griffith and husband Mark of Winchester, VA; one grandson, Caleb Andrew Sigmon of Roanoke, VA; one brother, Albert Cordell, Jr. of Pineville; and one sister, Ruth Bishop and husband Noel of Alexandria, VA.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton at 12:45 p.m. There will be no visitation or service at the funeral home.
