Betty Taylor McCall, 85 of Saltville, VA formerly of Tazewell, VA went to her heavenly home Sunday, February 18, 2018 surrounded by family and friends at her home.
Born October 10, 1932 at Broadford, VA she was a daughter of the late Charlie B. Taylor, Sr. and Uva Steele Witt Taylor.
She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Tazewell, VA. Betty was loved by all who knew her. She had a hardworking spirit and retired in 2005 from a career as voting registrar of Tazewell County, VA after 40 years' service. Betty was the first female elected official in Tazewell County. She loved to travel with her sister, Nancy and they shared many good times together.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert McCall and beloved brothers, James, David, and Blake Taylor.
The family would like to especially thank Wythe Hospice of SWVA for their loving care and support.
She leaves behind her siblings whom she loved so much, her brother, Charlie "C.B." Taylor, Jr. and wife, Peggy of Abingdon, VA; sisters, Nancy Elswick of Roanoke, VA, Phyllis Burkett of Saltville, VA, and Christine Cook and husband, Bill of Saltville, VA; several nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Opal Rhea, Wendi Cross, Kim Collis, and Susan Hutton; and special dog, P.J.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with the Reverend Donnie Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA.
