Betty Louise's Story
Betty Louise Dixon Keene, age 90, of Richlands, VA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Tazewell, VA.
Betty was born December 3, 1927 in New Garden, VA and was the daughter of the late John Arthur and Melissa Robinette Dixon. She was a faithful, dedicated Christian, who was a member of New Hope Assembly. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Paxton Keene; son, Ron Keene; sister, Helen Jamison; and brothers, Carnace Dixon and Paul Dixon.
Those who remain to carry on her spirit are: Her Daughter, Donna Harman and husband, Robert of Paintlick, VA; Son, Steven Keene and wife, Terri of Murfreesboro, TN; Sister, Muriel Simmons of Honaker, VA; Daughter-in-Law, Donna Keene of Bristol, VA; Seven grandchildren: Dianna Keen, Leanna Graf, Melissa Harman, Robbie Harman, Allison Steadman, Mikaela Keene and Zachary Keene. Great Grandchildren: Ashleigh Keen, Benjamin Keen, Bryan Keen, Caleb Keen and Jack Graf. A host of family and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Betty Louise Dixon Keene will be conducted Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with Rev. David Horton and Rev. Claudie Throgmartin officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be: Robbie Harman, Gary Keen, Bryan Keen, Benjamin Keen, Caleb Keen, John Graf, Jack Graf and Hunter Steadman.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Friday evening at the funeral home.
