Bennie's Story

Bennie Hubert Bauguess, 87, died May 12, 2018 at Hospice Home, Burlington, NC. He was a resident of Hillsborough, NC, formerly of Princeton, WV.
Bennie was born January 25, 1931 in Lerona, WV to the late George Bauguess, Sr. & Sarah Minnie Cole Bauguess.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth White, Betty Sue Bauguess, infant Lucille Bauguess, and brothers, Ralph Bauguess, Essie Bauguess, and George Bauguess, Jr.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 63 years, Frances Hypes Bauguess, married February 28, 1955. Also surviving are daughters, Judith Franklin (Ted), Vicki Bauguess, of Hillsborough, NC; and brothers, Ray Bauguess, Charles Bauguess (Louise), of Princeton, WV, and many nieces and nephews.
A Korean War veteran, Bennie served in the Army 101st Airborne Division. He graduated Nashville Auto Diesel College, TN and worked as an auto mechanic. A truck driver for 28 years, he drove 3,000,000 miles, receiving safety awards. Bennie was a Good Samaritan, often stopping to help those in need and shared generously from his garden. His selfless actions spoke of love and dedication to family and friends. From repairs to advice, Bennie could always be relied on. A long-time member of Kee Street United Methodist Church, he enjoyed bluegrass gospel music.
Receiving a new body in heaven, his earthly body will be laid to rest in the WV hills that he loved. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Reverend Gary Moore and Reverend Kong Namkung officiating. Military rites will be provided by the WV National Guard Honor Guard.
Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Kee Street United Methodist Church, 311 Kee Street, Princeton, WV 24740 or to New Sharon United Methodist Church, 1601 New Sharon Church Road, Hillsborough, NC 27278.
