Alvin (Al)'s Story
Alvin (Al) Edward Poster, 87, a resident of Luzerne, Michigan and part time resident of Lorton Lick Road, Bluewell, WV passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at his residence in Luzerne. Al was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 7, 1930, a son of the late Cecilia (Beaufait) and John Poster. He served in the U.S. Navy and later worked as a Pipe fitter for General Motors in Livonia, Michigan. Al was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a member of the Mio Moose Lodge and the Luzerne American Legion Post.
Al is survived by his three children: Terry L. (Sue) Poster of Livonia, MI, Lorraine K. (Steve) Kovarik of Luzerne, MI and Cheryl L. (Kirk) Schooley of Pinckney, MI, three sisters: Virginia M Schiller of Sedona, AZ, Lorraine C Kelley of Tucson, AZ and Theresa P Wilson of Westland, MI, two brothers: Donald P Poster of Port Saint Lucie, FL and James (Jim) R Poster of Lewiston, MI , seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Al is also survived by his extended family: Mrs. Thomas (Regina) Moretto of Fort Mill, SC, Mrs. Lester (Roseanna) Bratton of Bluewell, WV, Mr. Thurman Dale Watkins of Bluefield, WV, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marilyn and more recently his loving companion of 28 years, Betty Jo Watkins Sanders of Lorton Lick Road, Bluewell, WV and Luzerne, MI.
??In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
