Allen Blair Kinder, Jr., 55, of Bluefield, Virginia, passed away on September 4, 2017 in Roanoke, Virginia. Allen was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on November 2, 1961 to Edith Pearl (Patton) Kinder and the late Allen Blair Kinder, Sr. and was the eldest of their six children. He graduated from Graham High School, Class of 1980 and Southwest Virginia Community College, Class of 1982.
Allen is survived by his mother, Edith Pearl Kinder of Bluefield, VA; four children, Candice Kinder of Princeton, W. Va., Jessica, Zachary and Aleah and their mother Natalya Kinder Lefferson all of Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren Colten, Bridgett and Laurel, children of Candice; five brothers Rickie L. Kinder and wife Donna (Backus) of Bluefield, VA, Michael Steven Kinder of Bluefield, W. Va., Gregory Thomas Kinder and wife Leah (DeAngelis) of Roanoke, VA., and Jonathan David Kinder and wife Sarah (Vertefeuille) of Bremerton, Washington and James Mark Kinder and wife Kim (Whittaker) of Bluefield, VA, nine nieces and nephews and three great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7pm on September 8, 2017 at Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Virginia. Pastor Tony Ellis of Bluefield VA Church of God will be officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6 pm until the hour of the service. In keeping with his wishes, Allen has been cremated and internment will take place at a later date.
In tribute to brothers and sisters everywhere, the family would like to borrow a profound thought from author Clara Ortega, "To the outside world we all grow old, but not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family grief's and joys. We live outside the touch of time."
